The Miracle

A knock at the heart
A twinkle in the eye
A rush of adrenalin
A sudden palpitation of pulses
A series of welcome nights
A touch of the magical wand
And then,
commas
and more commas
and finally a fullstop.
A vacancy in the heart
A pearl in the eye
A lump in the throat
A breath smeared with thorns
A life of dreaded seconds
A fall from the fairy land.
Tell me,
the austere air of Lumbini,
the enlightening shade of Gaya
or the mocking phases of time-
which one did the miracle??
